JOGM/NEHEMIAH 2008 (Kenya, Uganda & Rwanda) Travel Tracks In order to help you properly prepare for traveling to Kenya, Uganda and/or Rwanda, we have put together some tracks that may be used by you to determine your preference of travel plans.
Kenya Hotel Choices are as follows w/ their corresponding rates:
Savone Isle Resorts* is located outside the center of town limits and requires a cab ride back to town. The cost is $39/per nite (2 people per room) w/ ˝ board (2 meals included)
Ambwere Complex Hotel is located in the center of town where the Marketplace, stores & Internet Café are and is only a 10-15 minute walk to the location of the conference church. The cost for full board (3 meals daily) is Ksh1900 (approx $28)
Uganda Hotel Choices are as follows w/ their corresponding rates:
Mayfair Hotel* is located in the center of town with restaurants, shops, post office, banks, internet cafes or Paradise Hotel (about 1km from town or less). Rates for both range from $40-45 (Ush70000 -78750)/per nite (2 people per room) w/ ˝ board (2 meals included). * my personal choice of hotels
TRACK 1: Kenya Prophetic & Uganda Conference (Wed. May 21st - Tues Jun 17th)
We will be arriving in Kenya no later than Friday 23rd of May, which means that travel must begin no later than Wednesday 21st May from either Philadelphia International (PHL) or Newark International (EWR). The conference will official begin on Monday 26th thru Wednesday 28th . On Saturday 24th JOGM will host a "Sisters Gathering" at the Savone Isle Resort for the women of Kakamega. This gathering will be an opportunity to minister to the Kenya women on a very real & sisterly way. Just sistas being sistas. Details of the Sister's Gathering TBA.
Then travel via bus/matatu across the border to Jinja Uganda. Leaving Kakamega Kenya on Friday 30th May in the AM. Stopping 1st to visit the 2 locations for His Saving Grace Orphanage. Toys, crayons, books & other gifts can be given to the children. There are approximately 150 children between both locations, oh don't forget the teachers/caregivers, they need to be encouraged with small gifts also. Then on to Jinja Uganda where we will minister on Sunday 1st June at Jinja Miracle Center Gateway Church, during the week the conference will take place. Details TBA. It is also our desire to do a live recording either during the week but no later than Friday 6th or Saturday 7th June featuring Shekinah Glory of Phila USA & Shekinah Glory of Kakamega, the HSG Orphanage as a benefit & fundraiser.
TRACK 2: Uganda Only ( May 31st -Jun 17th )
Fly into Entebbe (EBB) Uganda, enjoy your stay at either the Mayfair Hotel (center of town) or Paradise Hotel (about 1km from town or less). Rates range from $40-45/ (Ush70000 -78750). We will visit the His Saving Grace Orphanage during the week and have the children of HSG come to the town of Jinja to minister in concert. JOGM will also be minister a Single's Conference along w/ the dance ministry gifts of Shekinah Glory Dance Ministry of Philadelphia USA. If you choose to stay until the 17th, this trip can include being the guest at a beautiful Africa garden wedding in the capital city of Kampala.
TRACK 3: Kenya Conference Only (Wed May 21st - Fri. May 30th )
Fly into Nairobi's (NBO) Jomo Kenyette International Airport, take another flight on Kenyan Airways or East African Airlines to Kisumu Airport, take a ride (van or cab) to Kakamega where we will host the "Sister's Gathering" at Savone Isle Resort Motel on Saturday 24th June, the Prophetic Leadership Conference is Monday 26th - 30th of May.
Going back home after a week in Kenya? then why not add a 3 day/2 nite Safari in Nairobi, you will be picked up from the Kenyette's airport, taken to the hotel for your safari stay and the cost of the 3 nite/2 day stay is approx $200 (Ksh330,000).. Flying on British Airways? did you know they will allow a few days layover in London free of charge? humm.
Even if you want to visit Big Ben, the London Eye, you will need a minimum of a 6 hour layover in London in order to leave the airport and return on time. Make sure you mention that when making your travel arrangements.
TRACK 4: Rwanda Women's Healing Conference (approx June 18 or 23). Details: TBA. Theme: Bruised Fruit: The Perfume of Fire
